FAQs for the Smoking Cessation and health Conference

The Smoking Cessation & Health Conference (SCaH) is a dedicated event for professionals working in smoking cessation and related services in the UK. The conference focuses on how to reduce the burden of smoking related death and disease for all sections of the population


The fifth SCaH conference will take place in Birmingham on 15th September 2026. The event will again be hybrid, with options to join in-person or online. 


We will begin to release details of the conference themes, keynote speakers and speakers very soon.

The 2026 conference venue is The Eastside Rooms, 2 Woodcock St, Birmingham, B7 4BL.


SCaH 2026 is planned as a fully hybrid event with all speakers present in Birmingham. All delegates will have access to the conference App, which will hold the speaker ppt slides, livestream for those joining us virtually, and videos of the presentations for post event.  


Aloft Birmingham Eastside, 4 Woodcock Street, Birmingham, B7 4BL is the official conference hotel and is situated next door to the conference venue: https://www.marriott.com/en-gb/hotels/bhxal-aloft-birmingham-eastside/overview/


There is no on-site parking. The Millennium Point Multi-Storey Car Park (B4 7AP) is a 2 min walk from the hotel and charges a £12.70 day parking rate


This site will be updated regularly. We also provide conference updates via our regular SCaH newsletters. You can subscribe to receive our newsletters on the home page on this website. We also post regularly on our social media feeds - X and Bluesky (links on the home page). 


‘Rapid Fire’ presentations and a Poster Exhibition will be available at the in-person Smoking Cessation and Health Conference, giving delegates a platform to showcase their work and share their learning with peers.


A £100 prize will be given for the best ‘Rapid Fire’ oral presentation and best poster presentation.  The competitions are an opportunity to present your current initiatives and work to colleagues across the UK. 


We will confirm an Abstract submission date shortly. Kindly note - competition entrants must attend the conference in-person.


SCaH is a not-for-profit conference and we rely on volunteers to ensure the smooth running of the conference. We are pleased to announce that we are offering the following volunteering opportunities at the 2026 conference in Birmingham.
